Introduction to Intelligent UI
ChatGPT is introducing a more visual experience through a feature called Intelligent UI. The interface rolls out alongside a new GPT-6 model, integrating a significant amount of visuals into user conversations.
OpenAI states that many of these visuals are interactive, incorporating elements such as tappable buttons, customized calculators, interactive charts, and editable graphs that users can work with directly.
The stated goal of the update is to make learning complex topics easier while making the chatbot more accessible and capable of handling broader tasks.
Demonstration and Practical Examples
During a demonstration for journalists, OpenAI staff showcased how the chatbot generates diagrams and visuals to clarify abstract concepts.
Product manager Aarush Selvan noted that while ChatGPT has historically been text-based, complex tasks like planning trips, cooking, or learning require more than plain text responses.
Demonstration examples included querying how an airplane wing generates lift, prompting the chatbot to instantly supply explanatory diagrams.
Additional examples featured recipe visuals, bicycle mechanics diagrams, hiking excursion maps, and personal savings calculators.
Availability and Customization
The feature is customizable, allowing users to reduce the frequency of visuals if preferred. Intelligent UI launches globally with GPT-6 for Pro, Plus, Business, and Enterprise users, followed by a release for free and Go tier users.
