What it's like to spend a night in a Pebble Flow EV RV

Staying in the tech-infused trailer can kind of feel like being in a spaceship — in a good way.

There's something oddly thrilling about steering a 6,000-pound trailer around a parking lot with nothing more than touchscreen controls on an iPad. It's also the perfect encapsulation of what makes the Pebble Flow electric trailer unlike any other RV out there.

With integrated solar panels, electric motors and automated hitching, the tech-forward trailer is meant to simplify many of the complexities and annoyances that often come with RV ownership. That's Pebble's promise, anyway.

The futuristic-looking RV has a sleek, minimalist interior, a dedicated workspace and full bathroom. When Pebble gave the opportunity to spend a day and night in one of their trailers at an actual campsite, it provided a clear look at whether the $159,000 RV would feel as luxe as it seemed.

Interior Comfort and Workspace

After spending nearly 24 hours in a Pebble Flow, the RV proved to be an incredibly comfy space to work and sleep in, alongside an impressive array of integrated technology.

The tested layout features a dinette at the front end that converts into a bed, and a queen-sized Murphy bed in the back that doubles as a desk.

Working with two people in a compact space felt surprisingly roomy. The cushioned bench seats in the kitchen area offered great comfort, though the table was slightly wobbly. The dedicated desk is simple and functional, featuring enough space for a laptop, phones, and chargers while sitting right next to a back window that opens fully for fresh air.

The exterior windows feature electrochromic smart glass that changes from clear to frosted with the touch of a button for privacy. However, combining interior LED lights with frosted glass can make it difficult to tell what time of day it is.

The bathroom includes a flushing toilet and a separate shower stall with quick heating and good water pressure. The primary drawback is that the water pump is quite loud during sink or shower use.

Sleeping arrangements proved comfortable thanks to the Murphy bed, which also features easily accessible electrical outlets on both sides.

Automation and Towing Technology

Each trailer comes with its own iPad Mini that functions as the primary control hub for climate settings, lighting, automated hitching, and remote maneuvering features.

The hitch includes a camera that detects the position of the tow vehicle's ball hitch. When the tow vehicle is within four feet, drivers can engage a self-hitching mode.

The automated system guides the trailer onto the hitch in roughly 45 seconds. The iPad can also maneuver the unhitched trailer around parking spaces remotely.

An instacamp feature deploys hydraulic lifts to automatically level and stabilize the trailer upon reaching a destination.

In-wheel motors assist with towing by providing added power to help preserve gas mileage or EV range.

Towing the large trailer feels stable and manageable, with the company advising that the iPad controller be kept inside the tow vehicle while in motion.

New Models and Solar Upgrades

Newer 2027 models introduce alternative floor plans, such as dual stationary twin beds with under-bed storage that can be pushed together to form a king-sized bed.

A partnership with Jackery brings expanded solar capabilities. While existing models feature 1.1 kW of rooftop solar, 2027 models support up to four additional 500-watt external panels, bringing total input capacity to 3.1 kW to support off-grid energy needs and juice up the 45 kWh battery.

With a starting price of $159,000 and upgraded founder editions reaching $193,000, the Pebble Flow is a massive financial investment, but it delivers genuinely innovative technology for the RV market.
